History has been made in the Sunken Lounge: Crowds gathered there to watch the Beatles arrive in the United States in 1965! Today, windows look out on our 1958 “Connie” plane while overhead a split flap departures board by Solari di Udine displays messages. Recline on the upholstered benches and admire the authentic white penny tile and original Chili Pepper Red carpet.

A Royal Ambassador menu from MCR’s collection of authentic artifacts.
The hotel's collection of authentic TWA artifacts includes this Royal Ambassador menu.

The menu is stocked with 1960s cocktail favorites, including the Vodka is My Co-Pilot (our take on a martini). Also in the mix: Original signature cocktails like the Jet Fuel, with cucumber mint vodka, Aperol and muddled watermelon. Guests can also order from an expansive collection of spirits, carefully-curated wines and beers, all complemented by elevated bar fare.

Swizzle sticks based on retro TWA designs.
Stir it up: Swizzle sticks based on TWA designs make every cocktail a conversation piece.

In a nod to our past, The Sunken Lounge's swizzle sticks are modeled after TWA’s original sets highlighting its travel destinations (Africa, Greece, England) and its own fleet (propellers!).

There are no private events scheduled in the Sunken Lounge at this time.
