The TWA Hotel is open for overnight and day stays!

People age 12 and older are required to show proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO for indoor dining, indoor fitness and indoor entertainment.

 

Rooftop Pool

Our rooftop pool (refreshing in the summer and heated up to 95 degrees in the winter!) is open year-round for registered TWA Hotel guests without a Pool Reservation from 7 AM to 10:30 AM every day, though occupancy limits apply. The observation deck overlooking JFK Runway 4 Left/22 Right is also open for TWA Hotel guests from 7 AM to 10:30 AM every day.

Pool Reservations are recommended for TWA Hotel guests to visit the pool and observation deck and eat at the Runway Chalet at The Pool Bar from 11 AM to 11 PM every day. Read about Pool Reservations here.

 

Restaurants and Bars

The Sunken Lounge is open for indoor dining every day. Reservations are not accepted; walk-ins are welcome. Takeout is also available. See the menu and hours here.

Fitness Center

TWA Fitness is open for members and hotel guests. See our hours here. 

If you plan to use the gym during your stay, please show proof of vaccination to the front desk agent at check-in and you will receive access via your guestroom key card to open the gym door.

 

The TWA Shop

The TWA Shop is open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, Friday from 9 AM to 9 PM and weekends from 10 AM to 7 PM.

Above & Beyond

Based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), we are taking extraordinary preventative measures to help keep our guests and team members healthy and safe.

Our Above & Beyond health and safety plan — described below and on signage throughout the hotel — will be updated regularly to reflect the latest science.

 

Health and Safety Highlights

  • Stringent cleaning and disinfecting protocols are in place. We are using only disinfectants qualified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as effective against COVID-19. (See more on our cleaning procedures below.)
  • Social distancing is required. Visual markers ensure that everyone has a guide for remaining at least 6 feet apart throughout the hotel and its grounds. We have rearranged furniture and furnishings where possible and team members are enforcing 6-feet distances in public areas (such as the hotel lobby and entrances), event spaces, restaurants and employee areas.
  • Masks must be worn when not actively eating or drinking. Face coverings are required for team members, guests, visitors and vendors in public areas of the hotel and when physical distancing cannot be maintained. We may ask you to remove your mask briefly to provide age or identity verification. (For security purposes, coverings that obscure the entire face are not permitted.)
  • People age 12 and older are required to show proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO for indoor dining, indoor fitness and indoor entertainment.
  • Sanitizing stations are available throughout the hotel. Touchless stations stocked with hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes (containing 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol in keeping with CDC standards) are placed in public and employee areas.
  • Elevators are limited to two people.
  • Team members are required to wear the provided Personal Protective Equipment and they are receiving additional training. The training covers proper handwashing and other safety techniques.
  • Plexiglass has been added at the front desk.

 

Cleaning and Sanitizing

Public Spaces

  • Cleaning in all public spaces is increased with special attention to high-touch surfaces. These surfaces include, but are not limited to, front desk counters, door handles, counters, chairs, tables, guestroom door locks, electronic kiosks, escalators and stair handrails.
  • Only EPA-certified disinfectants qualified for use against COVID-19 are used.
  • Restrooms are stocked with EPA-approved antimicrobial soap.
  • The fitness center is stocked with hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes so guests can wipe down equipment before and after use.
  • The fitness center and pool area are cleaned every hour.

 

Guestrooms

  • Guestrooms are deep cleaned after every checkout. Daily cleaning will only be performed by a team member when you are absent from the guestroom.
  • Only EPA-certified disinfectants qualified for use against COVID-19 are used. We pay special attention to high-touch areas such as hard surfaces, counters, television remote controls, toilet seats and handles, door and furniture handles, faucet handles, nightstands, telephones, control panels, light switches, thermostats and flooring.
  • Room keys are sanitized before distribution. We try not to share items like pens, but if we must, they are disinfected between uses.
  • Amenities are available by request. Minibars and reusable items in guestrooms have been removed — please call the front desk with any requests.
  • Our laundry service washes linens in high temperatures. If you need extra linens, let us know. When linens are collected for washing, we are using sealed laundry bags.
  • In the event of a suspected case of COVID-19, the guestroom will be closed and deep cleaned. The guestroom will not be available for occupancy until the room is deemed safe.

 

Restaurants

  • Only EPA-certified disinfectants qualified for use against COVID-19 are used.
  • Food and beverage team members are employing enhanced sanitation guidelines and training aides backed by experts, including the State Department of Health, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Ecolab and the National Restaurant Association.
  • Food preparation techniques are enhanced, and we are performing self-audits and independent audits. 
  • Menus have been modified. Buffets are suspended and our focus is on grab and go items.

 

Event Space

  • Only EPA-certified disinfectants qualified for use against COVID-19 are used.
  • Social distancing is required. Furniture has been spaced 6 feet apart and attendance will be capped based on the current local guidelines.

Booking Flexibility

 

Reservations Booked On or After May 20, 2021

  • Flexible Overnight Rate: Flexible reservations must be cancelled or modified 7 days prior to your arrival date. A $10 fee plus tax applies for any modifications or cancellations. To modify or cancel your overnight reservation, click here.
  • Advance Purchase Overnight Rate: Advance Purchase reservations may not be refunded, cancelled or moved.
  • Daytripper℠ Rate: Daytripper℠ reservations are non-refundable and may not be cancelled or moved.

 

Reservations Booked Before May 20, 2021

  • Flexible Overnight Rate: Flexible reservations cancelled more than 7 days before the arrival date will be issued a full refund. Flexible overnight reservations cancelled within 7 days of the arrival date will receive a credit of the full deposit amount to be used within 12 months from the original arrival date.
